Start Using CPatrol

The minimum user count for a commercial licence is 10 users.

Since you need a license for less then 10 users, you can use CPatrol for SMTP Free, which is offered free of charge.

If you want to use CPatrol for SMTP Free and want to enjoy a higher level of security by subscribing a commercial antivirus option, please enter user count at least 10 and follow the instruction or contact out sales department at salescpatrolcom

Start Installation for Windows

• Install VMware Player from VMware Player product and download page: http://www.vmware.com/products/player/ CPatrol for SMTP Server is provided as a VMware image which can be run using VMware Player.

• Download and extract CPatrol for SMTP Server VMware Image into a directory on any selected disk of your computer. You will need at least 4GB of space on the target disk. The server image is compressed by the 7-zip tool. You can download it for free from http://www.7-zip.org/

• Run VMware Player. From the welcome screen select: Open to open a virtual machine.

• In the file dialog browse for the location where you have extracted CPatrol for SMTP Server image, You will
  have to pick the *.vmx file located in the extracted folder. The server will immediately start after you select the image file.

• CPatrol for SMTP Server Configuration: the CPatrol for SMTP Server contains a Linux operating system installation with CPatrol for SMTP Server and other preinstalled applications. The system will automatically boot when the image is started.
  Upon the first start, you will be presented with a simple configuration wizard. This wizard will let you to set basic parameters required to start the CPatrol for the first time. In order to complete this step you have to provide the following:
  • Accept the license agreement
  • Configure the network access
  • Configure SMTP relay
  • Set the Linux administrator password
  • Review the settings and restart the appliance

• Licence activation. CPatrol Free license needs to be activated before it can be fully deployed. You can activate your license here.

Start Installation for Linux

• You have 2 possibilities:
  • Start it with VMware and than it is the same procedure as for Windows (see Start instalation for Windows)
  • Start it with CPatrol Server Debian Installation Package or CPatrol Server Generic Debian Installation Package.

• Licence activation. CPatrol Free license needs to be activated before it can be fully deployed. You can activate your license here.
